Krear, 82, of 414 Hill St., Emlenton, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 1984, in Franklin Regional Medical Center. Born Aug. 1, 1901 at Emlenton RD, she was a daughter of Plumber and Elizabeth Eakin Williams. She married Arthur L. Krear in August, 1929. He preceded her in death in January, 1967. Mrs. Krear was an artist and teacher. Her chosen medium was watercolor and her favorite subject was still life, particularly flower arrangements. Her paintings had been exhibited at the Laurel Festival, Autumn Leaf festival, and Kennerdell Music and Art festival. She received various awards for her paintings. Mrs. Krear attended area public schools and received a bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock State College in 1922. She also studied art under Art Uncher and attended art classes at Harvard University under Walter Sipie. While there, she was given the opportunity of writing the history of the Harvard Gift Collection of Silver. Mrs. Krear also taught art in the Pittsburgh public schools for seven years. For many years, she had made her winter home in St. Petersburg, Fla., where she was a member of St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts. Mrs. Krear was active in the Venango-Clarion-Forest Tuberculosis Society and had been a board member for more than a quarter-century. She was a member of the Emlenton Presbyterian Church, Emlenton Civic Club, Foxburg Country Club and Penn Women. She is survived by two brothers, Joseph H. Williams of Charleston, S.C., and Lee Williams of Brecksville, Ohio; and two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Bernice) Kane of Ridley Park, and Mrs. Duane (Dorothy) Hazelton of Denver, Colo. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters: Myrtle, Margaret, Pauline, and Frances. Friends were received at the Criswell-Gardinier Funeral Home in Emlenton. Services were held in the funeral home with Rev. Darrell Knopp of the Emlenton Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment followed in Emlenton Cemetery.
