My Venango County Interests: John WILSON, b. 1794, Dungannon, Co. Tyrone, No. Ireland; and Isabella WILLSON, b. 1796, No. Ireland John and Isabella are my 2nd GGrandparents. I know that John was born in Dungannon, but am not sure about Isabella. They immigrated to Venango Co. PA, USA, in the early 1800's, settling near Titusville, PA (possibly what was then Neilsburg). They homesteaded in Venango, their children were born there, and the oldest daughter, Jane, married John Stewart there. Their children were: Jane (m. John Stewart); William (m. Rebecca Jones); James Foster (my GGrandfather, b. 1826; m. Margaret Stewart & Sarah Matilda Stewart); Elizabeth (m. Phineas Johnston); Mary (m. Mr. Carlisle); Nancy; and John (m. Melissa Mann) The family left Venango Co. for Ontario, CN, in 1845-6, settling in/or near Binbook, ON. John and Isabella lived out their lives there and, I believe, died during the 1861-1871 timeframe. The three oldest children's ages would have ranged from possibly 25-20 years of age at the time the family removed to Ontario with the other siblings being in their early to late teenage years. I would like to make contact with anyone who might be connected to this WILSON family either as a direct descendant or an extended family member. I believe the parents, John and Isabella, were part of a larger WILSON family who immigrated from County Tyrone and may have either settled in Venango or nearby counties of western Pennsylvania. Possible other siblings of either John or Isabella might be: Andrew, Samuel, Mary, Nancy, and another John. A query for Daniel WILSON, a known sibling, will be posted separately.
