March 31, 1941 Daily Courier Connellsville, PA John O'Nell, 80 years old, well known wagonmaker and blacksmith of Bullskin Twp., died 8:30 o'clock this morning at his home at Rich Hill after a lingering illness. Mr. O'Nell was born at PHILIPSTAD, SWEDEN, 1860 and came to America in 1880, going to OIL CITY TO VISIT RELATIVES. His first job was at RENO, near,OIL CITY, where he was employed in a cooper shop as a barrel maker for an oil company. Later he came to Connellsville and worked for a short time in the mines at Jimtown. He then bought a farm at Rich Hill and was engaged in making wagons and bobsleds until this winter when he was unable to continue his occupation because of illness. He was married to Miss Margaret McMannis of Bullskin Township, near Breakneck. Her death occured Nov. 12, 1939. In his boyhood days, Mr. O'Nell united with a Luthern church in SWEDEN. Surviving children are; Robert O"Nell of Connellsville, Edward O'Nell of Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Nannie Carlson of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Catherine Baff of Beverly Hi! lls CA, and Mrs. Hazel Kimmel of Connellsville. Also surviving are 23 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren. Note his parents were Carroll (Carl)O'Nell and Christina Olsen
