He was born Jan. 28, 1886, at Freeport, a son of William A. And Malissa Jane Meals Long. He was married Feb. 25, 1904, to Maude Sutton, who survives. Mr. & Mrs. Long made their home at New Kensington until they moved to Emlenton in 1928. Mr. Long owned and operated a shoe repair shop until he retired in 1951. Surviving besides his wife are the following children: Mrs. Thelma Hawk of Petrolia, Dale Long of New Kensington, Mrs. William Antill of West Palm Beach, FL, and Eugene Long of Emlenton. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Althea Booth. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Robert F. Crisswell Funeral home with Rev. Lloyd Tennies pastor of the Emlenton United Methodist church officiating. Burial will be in Crawford Memorial Cemetery.
