Surnames: Hamilton, Brown Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0dB.2ACI/464.2 Message Board Post: I hope you can help me out.  My great great grandfather was George Marion Hamilton b 1844 in Crawfordville, IN.  He was orphaned in 1849 and I have very little information on his parents.  From the census data I have, his father was born in OH and his mother was born in PA.  His obituary says he was raised by a maternal grandfather, William Brown.  Since he was orphaned at five and some of his census entries list Father/Mother birthplace as unknown, I don't have a lot of confidence in the birthplaces.  Do you think there might be a connnection?  Did any of your Hamiltons/Browns die in 1849?  I'd appreciate any help.
