Born May 15,1906,in Franklin,she was a daughter of Harry W. and Maude Arbuckle Pyle. Mrs. Peterson retired in 1971 from the nutrition department at Franklin Hospital. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Franklin. Mrs.Peterson enjoyed crocheting and cooking and was well-known for her pies. She was married Jan.14,1927,to Walter Peterson,who died Nov.6,1982. Surviving are five sons and their wives,Herman and Margaret Peterson,Robert and Sandy Peterson,Ralph and Alberta Peterson,Edward and Faye Peterson and Richard and Shirley Peterson,all of Franklin;three daughters,Mrs.Glenn(Esther)Baker and Mrs.Earl(Stella)Matthews,both of Cooperstown and Mrs.Harry(Evelyn)Haney of Franklin;36 grandchildren;73 great-grandchildren;and nine great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers,John Pyle of Franklin,Leonard Pyle of Angola,N.Y.,Melvin Pyle of Enterprise and Thomas Pyle of Grand Valley. In addition to her parents and husband,Mrs.Peterson was preceded in death by five brothers,James,Earl,Harold,Gus and Earnest;one sister,Maude Stanton; six grandchildren,Robert E.Peterson,Carol and Billy Schwimmer and two infants;and one great-great grandchild. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday in the Robert W.Gardinier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Church of the Nazarene in Franklin with the Rev.Donald Chamberlain,pastor officiating. Interment will be in Graham Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Church of the Nazarene of Franklin or to the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County.
