I apologize that I did not see your message prior to today, however I was very excited to read of a possible connection of my lines of research and your records. Family records show my paternal grandmother Arvilla "Rose" Hunter, was born in Franklin, Venang County, PA in May 1901. Her father's name was Hunter, her mother's maiden name Geseky. The 1930 Federal Census for Chicago Illinois shows a Belle Hunter head of household, with Arvilla Hunter daughter living with her along with my father, Donald James Hughes. Rose had married an Oramel Hughes in Chicago around 1921. Oramel died in 1926. Arvilla Rose (Rose Arvilla on her death certificate in 1991) had two sisters, Elsie and Esther. The Chicago census of 1930 shows a 2nd daughter of Belle Hunter as Elizabeth E. We are thinking it is either Elsie or Esther. Our family believes Belle Hunter is the same as Florence Belle Geseky, so I am very hopeful that your Florence Geseky is the same person as my great-grandmother. Family records also show this Florence was the daughter of a Hester Ritenour married to a James Geseky, hopefully again confirmation of your records showing Hester Ann Ritenour although married to a Peter Geseky not James. I have in my posession an interesting birth record of Rose Arvilla Hunter, however it is not an original issue, it is one based on an afidavit by my grandmother and her sisters and issued at a much later date. I found a family tree postd online designating the Ritenour and Grimm lines back to 1600's in Germany. I have attached a pdf file including that line as possibly linked to Hester Ritenour. I look forward to comparing records with you and I will try not to miss any future correspondence. Sincerely, Michael Hughes 704 5th Avenue Salt Lake City, UT 84103 [email protected] 801-322-3428 home
