She was born May 30, 1885, in Lamartine, a daughter of John and Ann Dorothy Laughner Grunden. She moved to Emlenton with her family when she was five years old. Miss Grunden was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church women and a member and past noble grand of Lady Emlen Rebekah Lodge 546. Her parents; a sister, Elizabeth K., and three brothers, Harry, Frank and Parks, are deceased. Surviving are a niece, Dorothy Grunden of Warren, and two nephews, R. M. and J. P. Grunden of Erie. Friends are being received at the Criswell Funeral Home in Emlenton, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Officiating will be Rev. Earl Runge, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Emlenton Cemetery. The Rebekah Lodge will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. .
