Haas Mrs. Pearl Viola Shawkey Haas, 76, of Emlenton, died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Pryor Berry of Chicora RD 1. She was born Dec. 26, 1904 in Knox, a daughter of William and Melissa Allamen Shawkey. She moved to Emlenton as a child when her father started employment with Emlenton Farmers Bank. She was married to William Melvin Haas of Emlenton June 1, 1927 and he died in 1976. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Emlenton, The Lutheran Women's Organization, the Lady Emlen Rebekah Lodge, the Order of Eastern Star, the Over 55 and Civic Clubs. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Pryor (Dorothy L.) Berry Jr. of Chicora RD 1; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Beightol of Emlenton and Mrs. D. A. (Carrie) Williams of Nokomis, Fla. A daughter, Mary Margaret Weller, died in May 1981. The body is at the Robert F. Criswell Funeral Home, Emlenton, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held there at 11 a.m. Wednesday wit the Rev. Earl Runge, pastor of the Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Emlenton Cemetery.
