Born Jun 8, 1911, in Emlenton, she was the daughter of Harry J. and Elizabeth Hafele Crawford. She married George Breene on January 11 1938. He died on Sept 25, 1973. A life-long resident of Emlenton, Mrs. Breene was a 1929 graduate of Emlenton High School. She graduated from Ogontz School in Rydal, PA, and from National Park Junior College in Forest Glenn, MD. Mrs. Breene was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Emlenton and the women's organization of the church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Emlenton; DAR Chapter of Emlenton; and Civic Club of Emlenton. Three daughters survive. Mrs. Elizabeth (Richard) Gilger of Oil City, Mrs Ann (Lawrence) Farrington of Eau Claire and Mrs. Sally (Robert) Huxley of New York City. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Louise (Paul) Biery of Oil City; and seven grandchildren. Seven nieces and three nephews also survive. She also was preceded in death by an infant brother. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 alm. Friday in the family residence with Rev. Darrell Knopp, pastor of the United presbyterian Church of Emlenton officiating. Interment will follow in Crawford Memorial Cemetery.
