I Daniel Wasson of Scrubgrass Township Venango County Pa. being sick and weak in body, but of sound mind, memory, and understanding and considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof and to the end I may be the better prepared to leave this world whenever it shall please God to call me home do therefore make and deliver this my last will and testament in the manner following. That is to say, first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and my body I commit to the earth at the discretion of my executor herein after named. First to my wife Esther Wasson I give and bequeath two beds and bedding, two bedsteads, two tables, a cupboard together with the pots & dresser furniture belonging to my house and choice of two cows and one heifer two years old or three out of the flock and ten sheep also the use of the house I now live in and the lot around said house with two skeps of bees so long as she sees proper to live in said house and remain my widow and a common support for said cattle with the remains on said place and also twenty dollars a year to be paid on said place to her and also my son William Wasson is to pay to my wife Est. twenty dollars a year. The wool and woolen yarn in my house to be divided equally between her and my son James Wasson and she is to have what unworked flax is on the said place. Second I give and bequeath to my son James Wasson the place I now live on together with all the farming utensils on the same and all the flock on the same except what has been before mentioned in this my will. Third I give and bequeath to my son William Wasson the farm he now lives on in Butler County, Parker Township, Pa. Fourth to my son Daniel Wasson, if he ever returns, is to have two dollars apiece from James and William Wasson. My son James Wasson is to have the amount of a patent and fees of the State Right of the place I now live on out of a judgment I hold against James Mayor and the balance of said judgment I give to my son William Wasson. I do hereby appoint my son James Wasson the executor of this my last will and testament. In witness hereof I have set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and thirty-eight. Connely Register of the probate and granting letters of administration in and for the county of Venango do hereby certify the above and foregoing to be a true copy of the last will testament of Daniel Wasson late of Scrubgrass Township Venango County deceased which was regularly proved and recorded in Will Book 2nd on the 9th day of October AD 1841 Page 204-5.
