    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: page, steel, mcnair Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0dB.2ACI/2495.2519.2699.1.1 Message Board Post: It looks like we have 3 surnames in common, and I think our families are related, but not exactly sure how. Here is my guess. Joseph Page and Deborah Bell (married 1777) had a number of children in Philadelphia 1. Thomas Page 1781-1849 d.Warren co PA Thomas married Margaret Steel (b.1787) 1808 in Genoseo, NY.. Margaret also had a sister Mary (Polly ) Steel who married a Daniel Horn and lived in Warren Co PA. Margaret's parents were Richard (b. circa 1755) and Elizabeth Moore who both died in Warren Co and are buried there. 2. John Bell Page 1789-1873, d. Coolsprings TWP Mercer Co Pa. John married Sarah S. Steel 14 Feb, 1812; they lived in Angelica, Allegany Co NY.until around 1825. I have been assuming that Sarah S. Steel and Margaret Steel were sister, but I can't confirm that. ?3. And possibly now Eliza Page who married David Steel Sometime after 1790 Deborah Bell Page remarried ( I am assuming that Joseph Page died.) She married a John McNair. Deborah McNair is buried in Coolsprings Twp Mercer Co, and on her tombstone it says, "mother of John Bell Page". Many of Thomas and John Bell Page's children (and there are lots of them!) have the middle name McNair or middle initial M. In my research I learned that Livingston County was formed in 1821 from Ontario County (east of the Genesee River) and from Genesee County (west of the Genesee River.) In 1846 the towns of Portage and Nunda we annexed from Allegany County and in 1857 the town of Ossian from Allegany County. Can you connect to any of this information? This family is a big puzzle.
