Born January 7, 1899 the son of John A and Dora Alter Eagles, he attended school and lived in Franklin all his life. Married October 13, 1919 to Georgia B Mihleder who died January 24, 1970. He worked at Franklin Post Office for 38 years before he retired in 1957, then he worked for 5 years for the commonwealth as a custodian for the Department of Public Welfare in the Galena Building. He was an ardent sportsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing. A charter memeber of Izaak Walton League, and belonged to the Rainbow Sportsman's Club. Member of First United Methodist Church. Survived by two sons, Edward A "Ted" of Cape May NJ and John G Eagles of DeWittville NY; a daughter, Mrs Albert A (Dora) Mazzeo of Erie; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Margaret, Ruth, Helen, Marion deceased. Services Wednesday at Huff Chapel, Rev Herbert Pennington officiating. Burial in Franklin Cemetery.
