Researchers, I have changed the extensions on the Venango County PAGW pages. Instead of shtml, they now read html. If you had any pages bookmarked for Venango County PAGW you will need to change the extension on the page address. Or revisit the site and rebookmark. The main entrance page address has not changed. http://www.pa-roots.com/~venango/ I am sorry for any inconvenience. Sheila

John D. Clews, aged 102 and Mrs. Sarah H. Jennings, aged 100 years, were married in Franklin, Pa., last week. "Notwithstanding their advanced age," the dispatch says, "the couple are as vivacious as persons of forty." I have no connection to either Mr. Clews or Mrs. Jennings. This was just a news worthy article that made it in the Hays, KS newspaper back in 1899, and I thought someone back in Venango Co. would like to know this incident made the news in Hays, KS. I am originally from Knox, PA, but now live in Hays, KS, so when I find articles in the old newspapers that have to do with people back in PA, I like to share the inf. We live in CA and I'm the one doing the research. I do have Charles William & Evaline Brown in the 1900 Federal Census in Hickory Township, Forest, PA and in 1910 Fed Census in Tionesta, Forest PA. The 1910 census shows 2 from the la Shevie family living with them. With the ages of 11 & 13, assumption is grandchildren, but no corroboration. According to One World Tre, they have 14 children. It lists Evaline's death as 21 Mar 1917 in Marienville, Forest, PA. We will be going to Ohio and PA possibly next year to do cemetery and courthouse searches. I'll be glad to share any info that I corroborate. Janet Gesin Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
