I am here in the PA Room of Franklin Public Library looking for info on James Haygood and his unnamed wife. I am finding nothing... There is NO Haygood in our extensive obituary files; No Haygood in Oil City directories 1898 - 1904 - 1910 - 1927 or 1930; There is no Haygood listed in the Will Index for Venango County, up to 1946; There is no Haygood listed in burial records at Grove Hill, 1870-1900 or 1900-1964. There is no Haygood listed at St. Joseph's Cemetery, nor in Calvary Cemetery, Sec. 1-2-3-4 or the Mauseoleum. [Calvary opened in 1912.] I even checked Franklin Cemetery and St. Patrick's Cemetery here in Franklin, with no luck. There is no Haygood listed in Venango County Marriages at the Court House,[1885-present] male or female; I also checked Vol. 1, 2 & 3 of Marriages from Venango County [marriages not in court house records]1798-1885 & those from outside the county, 1886-1946, by Joan Search Hanson, C.G. and Kenneth L. Hanson, Ph.D. and their book Birthdays, Anniversaries and Reunions from Venango County Sources, 1868-1946. It makes one wonder if the census taker in 1920 spelled the name correctly... Sylvia M. Re Haygood I think there's a possibility she is Helen Haygood. In the 1930, this woman appears, married with a daughter, no husband's name, living in New Jersey: she has been married from the age of 25 and is now 40, so should have appeared in the 1920 census. And she didn't. There are very few people with this surname in either census, so I just called up all those born in PA. This way you can see any matches across the census returns - admittedly, it works better with males than females, but as long as the married name carries through, it works OK. Of course, there's a possibility the surname has been wrongly spelled or transcribed, but I can't go there .... good luck Maggie

If you gave me permission, I could ask them to contact you. One is coded mjf9903 and has submitted a Friedberg family tree: the other is coded roberthockman1 and has submitted a Hockman family tree. They had several children.Eventually John moved to Canal Township, Venango county.I could'nt find John in the 1850 census for Worth Township but I did find a Daniel Mouck(born PA 1797) family in that location.Would like to know who Johns parents are and where they are from.Also I would like some info on Daniel Mouck.Any help would be appreciated.----------Terry Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
