ANNA SNOW Funeral services in memory of Mrs. Anna Snow, aged 82 years, widow of William Snow, who died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. C. B. Baughman, at Eagle Rock, Friday afternoon, will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Baughman, 313 East Third Street. Rev. Thomas G. Koontz, D.D., pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate and burial will be made in the Brandon cemetery. Mrs. Snow's death followed an illness of several months. She was born at Bradys Bend on June 21, 1848, and came to Oil City wityh her parents in 1864. She had spent her entire life in this vicinity. Her husband died 13 years ago, and since that time she had made her home with har daughter, Mrs. Boardman. Surviving are three daughters and three sons, Mrs. Mary Stevenson, of Dempseytown; Mrs. Robert Boardman, of Oil City; Mrs. Henry Patterson, of Ashtabula, O; Richard and Harvey Snow, of Mercer, and John E. Snow of Seneca. Two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Graham, of Warren, and Mrs. John Ryan, of Oil City; three brothers, W.D. Crawford and Lewis Crawford, of Petroleum Center, and Feldy Crawford, of Titusville; 36 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren also survive.

    2. Hi again All!, Do to a pricing error by one of the Volunteers (not me thank heavens,LOL!) The price on the Sipe book "The Indian Wars Of Pennsylvania" is $34.95 +tax and shipping & not $30.00 including as I had previously posted. I will (of course voluntarily) be reimbursing the Museum shop for the price difference next time I get down there & consider it well worth it! The deceased was born at Queenstown, Armstrong county, Pa. in 1849. He spent the first part of his life in that vicinity then removed to Eagle Rock, where he engaged in farming until a few years ago when he removed to Seneca. He leaves his wife, and the following children; Mrs. Mary Stevenson, Mrs. Laura Boardman, Mrs. Alice Mercillott and Fred Snow, all of Oil City; Richard Snow, of Seneca; Harvey Snow of Kittanning. WADE Alonzo D. Wade, 100, of Big Bend, Scrubgrass Township, Emlenton RD3, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday at his residence. Born April 13, 1893, in Lake Trade, Butler county, he was a son of the late Robert Morris and Margaret Louisa Sloan Wade. He was a member of St. Petersburg Church of the Nazarene. He also was a member of the National Rifle Association, and he enjoyed trapping, gardening and bird watching. Mr. Wade was a coal miner for many years. Later, he worked for the Quaker State refinery in Emlenton, retiring in 1958. Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Milford Wade, whom he married September 16, 1914, in Crawford Corners, Venango county. Mrs. Wade died March 1, 1972. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. C. Herbert (Ruth L.) Rossman of Emlenton RD3, with whom he made his home; 11 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lester L. Wade, and a daughter, Alice McGinnis; five brothers, Harry H. Wade, Thomas S. Wade, Curtis M. Wade (Morris Curtis Wade ... Tim's note), Findley W. Wade, Philip W. Wade, and John L. Wade; a sister, Mrs. R.A. (Minnie) Wood; and two great-grandchildren, Mark Savage and Pamela Savage. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Christopher M. Hile Funeral Home, Kerr Avenue, Emlenton. Fineral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. Edward T. Reckner, pastor of the St. Petersburg Church of the Nazarene, will officiate. Interment will be in Scrubgrass Cemetery, Scrubgrass Township, Venango county. The family suggests memorials be made to the St. Petersburg Church of the Nazarene.

    2. Hi All, I just wanted to let everybody know about the great book I just bought! The Book reads like a who's who of the early Pa. families!!!!! It is called "The Indian Wars of Pennsylvania" by C. Hale Sipe. It's "An account of Indian Events in Pennsylvania, of The French & Indian War, Pontiacs War, Lord Dunmore's War, The Revolutionary War, and the Indian Uprising from 1789-1795." It is subtitled "Tragedies of the Pennsylvania Frontier" & is based primarily on the Penna. Archives & Colonial Records. This is the 2nd edition including supplement & corrections & is 908 pgs. long including index. It is available through the Erie, Pa. Maritime Museum's Shipwright Shop & is reasonably priced at about $30.00 including tx & shipping. WADE Morris C. Wade, 83, of Cooperstown RD 1, died in the Franklin Hospital at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. He was born in Butler County Aug. 9, 1898, a son of Robert M. and Margaret Louisa Sloan Wade. He was retired in 1963 from the Pennsylvania Railroad where he had worked for 40 years. He had also been employed by the McLaughlin Coal Co. in Argentine, Butler County, and had worked for several oil companies. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Oil City, and had recently attended the Oakland United Methodist Church. He was married to the former Helen A. Coe July 6, 1918 and she suvives along with a son, Kenneth C. Wade of Columbus, N.M.; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Edna) Usoff and Mrs. Harry (Virginia) Ashbaugh, both of Franklin, and Mrs. Arnold (Carol) Morris of Big Fork, Mont.; a brother, Alonzo D. Wade of Emlenton; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. An infant son, five brothers, Harry, Finley, John. Philip and Thomas Wade, and a sister, Minnie Wood, are deceased. The family is receiving friends from 7 to9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held there at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Dean Ziegler officiating. Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery.
