I became aware of the story through the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article. I didn't know if Frank Simcox was a relative based on the article alone, but through this message board was able to establish that this is so. I knew that Robert Simcox Jr came from around Sharon,PA according to family legend but was certain that he was related to Frank Simcox. Being a relatively uncommon name, I guessed that they might be related due to the proximity of the Frank Simcox birthplace to Sharon PA. My line is through Robert Simcox Jr. who was the son of Robert Simcox Sr. After Robt. Sr. died, his wife Jane, moved to Illinois where my line was established.

Posted on: Venango Co. Pa Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Venango/2291 Surname: ------------------------- Walter, You heard from my mother yesterday. Patricia Johnson. My Great Grandmother was Evelyn Birtcil. I have previously seen your site but until yesterday, I had no record of a link to it. When I happened along the Venango Home site, I was amazed to find so much info. My Mother tells me you work is published. As I am new to this, how can I find it so I can save some steps. This seems to have opened the way for more questions than answers. We had previously believed that Will McConnell was an Uncle to my mother. That's how he was referred to when she was growing up. But after your message yesterday, we now think he was her Grandfather. We previously were told that Smilin' Ed McConnell the narator of the Bruster Brown Hour was her Grandfather. I was able to locate some infor. on him at the local library. Also if I may ask, Are you the one who posted a copy of a head stone for Phoebe Yarnell Harrison? I have spent months looking for a link to a Phoebe Yarnell. I noticed in your note that you are looking for records on the name Weaver, I have nothing on that but the picture shows graves behind Phoebe Yarnell Harrison with the name Weaver. One of my 13 year old twins noticed that. The thing that struck me on the photo was the name of the web site. There was no other information except the address for the site. The odd part was that it said Pattie Jo, which is my name. I have only met one other Pattie Jo in my whole life. I'm curious to know where the headstones were located, as there was not another bit of info. except for the picture. Do you happen to know when the spelling for the name changed? I have some marriage and birth certificates for Evelyn Birtcil, and a marriage certificate for Frank Carl Birtcil and Alice Maud Yarnell. Can you tell me how you found the marriage record on Evelyn Birtcil to Will McConnell. I couldn't come up with anything. Apparently, it's because we are looking for the wrong guy. My Grandparents and Great Grandparents changed names so many times, it has been easier to find records before them. I even have social security numbers for the more immediate relatives, but it's as tho there is a big secret we aren't supposed to find. Also, do you have anything on a Nellie (McConnell?) she whould have been the daughter of Evelyn Birtcil McConnell. She died of diptheria when she was young. Evelyn also had a daughter named Dorothy McConnell( my Grandmother). We don't know of any other siblings. I'm sorry to take up so much of your time with this. As you can see, we are new to this, and after hearing from you, we have so many questions. When I started this my Mother seemed to be disinterested, but since the last month or so when I started to dig up some information, she seems to be excited about it. My own children are having fun with this also. We live in Homewood, Ill. May I ask where you're from? Also, I don't know if my Mother told you, but she has a Sister named Dorothy, as their family was not that close, they seem to know nothing of their history. It's funny when I talk to them, because they want to know everything. I hope to hear from you soon. Pattie Tydd, Johnson, Sturgis, McConnell,Birtcil,O'Nail..??
Hi Listers, I'm looking for a marriage record for Thomas Austin Eakin and Margaret Williams, md about 1876. They were Methodist Episcopalian, I believe. Does anyone know of any extant Methodist Episcopalian marriage records in the Clintonville/Scrubgrass area? Thanks for any suggestions. Jennifer
