Lodisa Flowers was the daughter of Samuel Flowers and Eliza Jane McMillan, all of Rockland Tp., Venango Co. She was married to John Flowers who was supposed to have been no relation to her. From your message, I am not clear on who was to have been married to William Brandon. I have no Brandon connection to this family in my records. I have a bit more on this family, but few sources. What is your connection? Cheers, Kipp AHarrold wrote: > > Posted on: Venango Co. Sher, according to Helen Snyder's "Snyder Genealogy", p. 78, William Long was married to Mary Flowers whose first husband was Frank Collingwood (no further information). Interestingly enough for you, Mary Flowers was the daughter of Samuel Flowers and Eliza Jane McMillan. The children listed for Mary Flowers are as follows: Samuel Collingwood, William Collingwood, Frank Collingwood, George Collingwood, John Long, David Long, Lester Long, and Minnie Long. Unfortunately, there are no sources for any of this information. Hope this is useful. Cheers, Kipp Sher Dantzer wrote: > > Posted on: Venango Co. Dear Alicia, Joyce and Henry, Thank you all for offering to look up my missing ancestor. I will be so appreciative if someone is able to locate him for me! William McIntire, (also spelled w/Entire, Intyre, Entyre) was born in Venango Co. PA in 1845. His family lived in Oakland Tsp. until they moved to OH at the close of the Civil War. (FYI: William's brother, John D. McIntire, served in the PA 57th Reg. Co. E in 1861, then re-enlisted in 57th/Co. K until June 1865. His post office address was shown as Dempseytown on his military papers. He enlisted in Cherrytree.) PS: It looks like his middle initial could have been J., but I'm not positive. If anyone has requested a lookup recently in Bates History of the PA Volunteers, I would appreciate knowing who you contacted and what the charge was. Do most of the large libraries in PA offer this type of lookup, or would you suggest I go elsewhere? I do not know which regiment my ancestor served in....I just sense that he did serve and die in the war, as I cannot find any record of him anywhere after 1860. THX! Marcia McEntire Lund in NC
