    3. Posted on: Venango Co. Pa Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Venango/2732 Surname: McBride, Ghering, Gillispie ------------------------- My great great grandmother, Mary Amanda McBride was born 12 March 1846 in Jackson Center. She married George Ghering and they lived the remainder of their years in Cherrytree Township, Venango Co., PA. They were married in Sunville in 12 April 1864. Amanda's parents were Thomas McBride and Margaret Gillispie. She had a brother named David McBride, born in 1941. She had a nephew Frank McBride, age 9, with them in the 1880 census. There is a Florence McBride married to her son George Lowry Ghering. Florence was a niece (born 1887). Anyone connected with this family? Also, where are Jackson Center and Sunville? I couldn't find them on the Venango Co. map or the current Penn. map. Thanks, Kathy Link: Ghering, Chandler, Crawford, and Baney Genealogy URL: <http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~master03/>

Pa Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Venango/2731 Surname: GATES ------------------------- I just got confirmation this past week (2/07/01) that my grandfather, Lowry Lawrence GATES was born in Venango Co. PA. This leads me to believe that the rest of his family which had indicated 'Cooperstown' was indeed also from Venango PA. The problem was that there were several counties which contained towns called Cooperstown. Please see my original query. I would appreciate hearing from anyone else investigating this family or connected to it.
