Surviving are four daughters, Helen Swartz and husband Donald of Greenville, Bonnie Savchuck and husband John of Greenville, April Lane, and husband Frank of Transfer and Sandra Derby of Meadville; three sons, Harold "Joe" Dougher of Conneautville, and Thomas and James Dougher, both of Greenville; five sisters, Lydia Morrison of Seneca, Esther McClain of Youngstown, OH. Pauline Hazen of Franklin, Cathleen Foster of Oil City, and Alice Swartz of Seneca; seven grandchildren, Brian and Keith Swartz, Tim DeWeese, Janell Dougher, Tina Derby, Kelsay Lane and Brandon Derby; two step-grandchildren, Kristin Knott and Stephanie Lane; five great-grand children; and three step-great-grandchildren. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Greenville. He was married Oct. 22, 1956, to Joyce Ann Lineman, who died Feb, 25, 2000. Surviving are two sons, Glenn A. Ritts, Jr. and wife Elaine and Gregg E. Ritts and fiancee, Deborah, all of Greenville; and one grand son James Ritts of Greenville. He also is survived by three brothers and their wives, John and Sherry Ritts of Towanda, Harry and Joyce Ritts and Paul and Jean Ritts, all of Seneca; two sisters, Mrs. Larry (Patricia) Latshaw of Seneca and Mrs. Betty Hall of Raleigh, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Emlenton, The Lutheran Women's Organization, the Lady Emlen Rebekah Lodge, the Order of Eastern Star, the Over 55 and Civic Clubs. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Pryor (Dorothy L.) Berry Jr. of Chicora RD 1; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Beightol of Emlenton and Mrs. D. A. (Carrie) Williams of Nokomis, Fla. A daughter, Mary Margaret Weller, died in May 1981. The body is at the Robert F. They moved to Sarasota in 1961. While in Emlenton, Mrs. Donaldson was a member of the OES and Rebekah Lodge. She was also a member of the Richland Grange. Surviving are three sons, Carl Donaldson of Florida; Robert of Emlenton; and Kenneth of Knoxville, Tenn; and two sisters, Nellie Bowser of Rimersburg and Marjorie Whitter of Roswell, N.M. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Emlenton and the Ladies Emlenton Rebekah Lodge. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Edinger of Knox; two sons, William S. Mrs. Long had been hospitalized for about a week due to a fractured hip. Born March 18, 1892, in Eau Claire, she was the daughter of Thomas A.O. and Mary McGinnis Miller. She attended Eau Claire Academy and worked in her father's drug store there. On November 8, 1919, she married Emil Long Sr. He died in 1961. Mrs. Long was a member of the Associate Presbyterian Church for many years. Later, she joined the Emlenton United Presbyterian Church and was active in several organizations there. He retired in 1976 after operating a barbershop at the same location in Emlenton for his entire career. He was known for having cut the hair of seven generations of one family. He was married to the former Edith A. Shively on August 26, 1926. He was an avid sportsman and a member of the Emlenton Rod and Gun Club. He was the oldest member of the Emlenton United Methodist Church where he worshiped for 75 years and was a member of the choir for 50 years. He was a member of the Emlenton Over 55 Club and the Emlenton Chamber of Commerce. He was a former member of the Emlenton IOOF lodge. A 32nd degree Mason, he belonged to Allegheny Valley Lodge 552, F & AM; the Valley of the Oil City Lodge of Perfection and New Castle Consistory. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Donald G. Shorts of Silver Spring, Md. And Ronald E. Shorts of Timonium, MD, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Annamae Gibbons, in 1959, two brothers, Clarance M. Shorts and William Earl Shorts, and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Lawrence. My great great grandfather was George Marion Hamilton b 1844 in Crawfordville, IN. He was orphaned in 1849 and I have very little information on his parents. From the census data I have, his father was born in OH and his mother was born in PA. His obituary says he was raised by a maternal grandfather, William Brown. Since he was orphaned at five and some of his census entries list Father/Mother birthplace as unknown, I don't have a lot of confidence in the birthplaces. Do you think there might be a connnection?
