Mr.Pyle was born July 20,1912,on Bully Hill near Franklin to Harry and Maude Pyle. He married the former Mary Mae Lalich on Oct.1,1934.She survives. Mr.Pyle was a World War II veteran,having served in the U.S.Navy Sea Bees. He had worked as a machinist at Miller Printing Co.,in Pittsburgh,he had worked at West Hickory Tanning Co.,for several years. Mr.Pyle enjoyed hunting and gardening.He had a great sense of humor and was generous with anything he had to share. Also surviving are two brothers:Leonard Pyle of Angola,N.Y., and Thomas Pyle of Grand Valley;and many nieces and nephews. Four brothers and two sisters died previously. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Gordon B.Garrett Funeral Home and attend the funeral there at 1:30 p.m.Friday with Father Rocco Tito,pastor of St.Walburgs Church officiating. Mrs. Breene was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Emlenton and the women's organization of the church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Emlenton; DAR Chapter of Emlenton; and Civic Club of Emlenton. Three daughters survive. Mrs. Elizabeth (Richard) Gilger of Oil City, Mrs Ann (Lawrence) Farrington of Eau Claire and Mrs. Sally (Robert) Huxley of New York City. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Louise (Paul) Biery of Oil City; and seven grandchildren. Seven nieces and three nephews also survive. She also was preceded in death by an infant brother. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 alm. Friday in the family residence with Rev. Darrell Knopp, pastor of the United presbyterian Church of Emlenton officiating. Interment will follow in Crawford Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Mr. Kelly was born in Grove City June 24, 1927, a son of Arthur A. Kelly and the late Margaret Bishop Kelly Gibb. He was a former resident of both Franklin and Emlenton. He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II and was discharged in 1946. He then graduated from Emlenton High School in 1947. Mr. Kelly joined the National Guards in Franklin in 1949 and in 1950 joined the U.S. Army where he served in various capacities for 26 years. He served in Germany with the European Theater, served in the Korean Conflict, was stationed in the South Pacific and also fought in the Vietnam War where he was wounded twice. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and retired from the Army as a sergeant first class Oct. 5, 1978. Mr. Kelly was a member of the United Church of Christ in Emlenton. He is survived by his father, Arthur A. Kelly of California; three sons, William (Mike), Jonathan Patrick and Timothy Lee Kelly, all of Franklin; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Linda) Hinkson of Franklin; and five granddaughters. He also is survived by a brother, John C. Bishop of Butler; an Uncle, Walter R. Bishop of Emlenton; and his step-father, William Gibb of West Chester

Archie Donaldson, 89, of Sarasota, Fla., a former Emlenton RD1 farmer and businessman, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 1981, in Sarasota. He was born July 4, 1892 in Nickleville, the son of John H. and Hannah Jane Nickle Donaldson. He married the former Edna Shields July 15, 1914. She preceded him in death October 29, 1981. Mr. and Mrs. Donaldson lived in Emlenton until 1961 when they moved to Sarasota. They were members of the United Presbyterian Church in Sarasota. Mr. Donaldson was well known in this area for the potato farm he operated at his Emlenton RD 1 address, and also for the farm equipment and machinery he sold at that location. He later became involved in the farm machinery and sales business, moved his Donaldson Farm Machinery Company offices to River Avenue in Emlenton, and in 1953 added an automobile sales franchise to his business. He retired in 1957 and sold the business, now known as Donaldson Motors, to his son, Robert Donaldson of Emlenton. Mr. Donaldson was a member of the Allegheny Valley Lodge F and the AM of Emlenton, the Oil City Lodge of Perfection, New Castle Consistory and the Zem Zem Shrine of Erie. He was also a member of the IOOF Lodge of Oil City and the Richland Grange. A former director of the Central Electric Company and the Production Credit Association of Meadville, Mr. Donaldson was also past president of the Pennsylvania Potato Growers Association. He is survived by three sons, Carl of Florida, Robert of Emlenton and Kenneth of Knoxville, Tenn.; several grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by brothers Ernest, Homer and Austin and by sisters Sylvia, Nellie, Ethel and Emma. Friends will be received at the Robert F. Criswell Funeral Home in Emlenton Saturday and Sunday, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, with Rev. Thomas Prosser, pastor of the Edenburg United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Emlenton Cemetery.
