Thanks Eliz and Charles, both of you are awesome! Can you give me another answer please? I see that the Emeline Kennedy with George Alexander as husband this family is in Beaver Co, and the Thomas Kennedy family is in Venango Co, would you ASSUME that the Venango Co. family would be the correct family? My g-g father's death certificate says he was born in Oil City, which is in Venango please let me know what you think. I still think I should try to find some church records in that area as well. I would take a guess at Catholic with a name like Kennedy. Could you also tell me where you are finding this information? Thanks again. Stephanie
Eliz, Wow you sure find stuff fast! I will research this new information out now. Thanks so much, and yes I have wondered if this might have been a second marriage for William, as 35 is a bit late for a first marriage. Something else for me to work on, maybe I will have to check marriage registers or church records etc. Thanks so much you are a great help. Thanks for the reply Eliz, I appreciate the lead, I also just got another from another source, telling me that in the 1870 census, there is a William J. Kennedy as a child no Father listed, but mother in Emeline, this person tells me her maiden name is KYLE. I just followed both forward as far as I could but lose both of these William's with no lead distinguishing which one is mine. Yes my William was born in Oil City, in Aug 1853. any other thoughts? Ellis Island records list them as "Ruthenians" from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, specifically from Wroblik (Voroblyk) in Galicia (present-day Wroblik, SE Poland). They were probably Eastern-rite catholics ("Byzantine-rite" or "Greek" catholics). Nicholas Frys eventually moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and married Catherine Hogan there ca. 1920. He was my uncle, died in Minneapolis in 1970. I am just starting my FRYS research, hence have no data to share beyond the above. I need, and will appreciate, any help from angels out there with any knowledge of the family. Thanks! Richard Crum, Santa Monica, CA

She was Mary Jane Brown McCullough born in Ireland in about 1825. Married to Peter McCullough who is buried in St. Joseph's Cemetery. He died in 1888. She is supposed to have died in Oil City and is probably in the same plot but there is no stone. The plot belonged to the McCarthy family. Mary Jane was still living at the end of 1894. There is a good chance she was still living in 1910. I can't narrow it down any farther. I need an obituary or some other record of her death.
