As I stated before about the Tribune lookups, I was not sure what I would find in the microfilm rolls. I started looking though for my own ancestor (I had no responses by then) and I found absolutely nothing on him in the weeks before and after his death date. Here is the problem : The newspaper seems to have been published from Selinsgrove and only release weekly. My ancestors death date just happened to fall on a publish date. Anybody who has been looking for an obit or something similar knows that if they don't find something in the few days following thre death, nothing will probably be found. I think my ancestor just happend to "fall between the cracks" of the 'papers release dates. Oh well, I'll keep looking... What I have seemed to find was more instances of death listings of people who lived in the Selinsgrove area, not as much in the smaller areas like Chapman other out of the way towns. The odd thing which I was not aware of, is the listing of people visiting other families in the county. This was usually found whenever a county resident left the county to visit outsiders or vice versa. Interesting... As far as other peoples items, I will look for the items while I still have the microfilm (probably will be returned in early December). I received several responses already this evening and I am generating a list of names and dates to look for. I just hope I can manage the list and it doesn't get out of hand. Please remember, I am doing all of this for nothing and I have limited time. If you have a full name or date which may appear in the paper at a specific time, pass it on. I'll scan the articles the best I can, but I can't promise that I won't miss something that I wasn't directly looking for. I will try to make a list of occurances of all names passed on to me and where they were found. I'll see what info I can get to those lucky people. Does anyone out there know of other newspapers that were available between 1850 and 1900 (or beyond) which centered around Middleburg and might have included the smaller communities? Thanks to all and good luck! Keep the names and dates coming. The sooner I get them the sooner I can look them up.
