Since the list has been slow I thought I would post a couple of questions.I recently purchaed a copy of the Union County Heritage (1996 vol. XV) published by the Union County Historical Society. In this issue there are a couple of references to a school house which was sold to the Evangical Association (around 1866).It also says that this schoolhouse was on the turnpike west of John Diehl's.I believe this John Diehl was my gg grandfather.I know that he lived in that area but have not been able to figure out exactly where.John and his wife ( Mary Laird ) are buried at Forest Hill. There is also a reference to soe Property on the turnpike owned by the Reish family.I know that John's sister Elizabeth married Daniel Reish jr. and that one of John's daughters -Sarah- married John Miller.I have a copy of a picture of Sarah and John and their family. It says on the back that their farm was the first farm past Forest Hill on the right hand side headed towards half way dam.My questions are as follows: Does anyone where the school was/is ? Does anyone know where the Miller farm was/is ? Does anyone have info. on any of these families? Does anyone have any old copies of the Heritage that mention the Diehl family ? I sent a letter to the Historical Society. They said they will do an Hours worth of research for 25 dollars.Has anyone had this done and is it worth it? Sorry for the long letter but since the list has been slow mabye we can get some talk started.MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone. Michael B. Diehl
