    1. Draft during Civil War?
    2. Hi, listers. I need some more Civil War advice. First, is there, anywhere, one list of all the regiments that were raised in Union County? Would a fellow from Lewisburg be likely to have gone over the Columbia County to enlist? I know they went everywhere, but would like to set some priorities. Also, would they have drafted all the boys in PA for the war, or would some of them have stayed home? My boy was one of 14 children, so I doubt that he'd have been only son of a widowed mother or anything like that that would have excluded him. Now, another question. I am trying to figure out what happened to my great grandfather, C. F. Diffenderfer, between the years of 1850 and 1872. The obvious answer is the War. He was born abt. 1840-43 in Union County. I have who I think is him in the 1850 census, but next I pick up his trail is 1872 in Tioga County. He would have been 20 in 1860 and 30 in 1870, and I know I've got to check the censuses for that. But that probably won't tell me who his parents were, which is what I need to confirm. Is there an 1865 census for Union County? What kind of other records should I look for? Many thanks in advance for your time. Laura Alderson, Raleigh, NC LWA101@aol.com
