    3. I think an ancestor of mine died in 1829 in White Deer Valley. Ihave some indication that his name at the time was Christian CARRIHER or CARACHER. His widow is listed on the 1830 (Washington Twp.) Census as Elizabeth Caracher; his son Daniel is listed in the same twp. as Carriher and ten years later as CARTER which has been the family name ever since. Elizabeth Carter died in Dec., 1851 in Milton at the home of her son-in-law and is buried in Milton. Her obit says she was a resident of Lycoming Co. at the time. I"d like to find a record of Christian's death and/or burial. Anyone have any ideas? I THINK the family was Scots-Irish and Presbyterian. A number of the WDValley names are familiar ones; two of them, MILLER (definitely in 1851 at White Deer Church) and FORESMAN (I think) married into the Carter family. Thank you in advance. BarbaraCB
