Union County Historical Society is currently working on compiling all cemetery records in Union County. Some of the cemeteries are already finished, so you may want to contact them for this information. Hi, Does anyone have access to a general index for all the cemeteries in Union Co? I am seeking information (tombstone inscriptions, etc) on the following children of John Snyder, eldest son of Gov Simon Snyder: all probably died after 1900 Mrs. Daniel Musselman (Utica Voltaire Snyder) Mrs. G.W. Walls (Ventitia Irene Snyder) I am not sure what happened to John's son, Fredrick Granville Snyder, and he could have died in the area as well. I would liked to make contact with any descendants of these families as their lines are missing from our Snyder history. Thanks! Vanessa
1/8/2000 Hi: I hope that if anyone provides information about a comprehensive burial list for Union Co., or for Snyder co. for that matter, that you will post it to the whole List. It is most frustrating to know that someone died in Union Co. (now Snyder) in 1828, and to find NO trace. Many thanks, Barbara Argyres2@aol.com wrote: > Hi, > > Does anyone have access to a general index for all the cemeteries in Union Co? > > I am seeking information (tombstone inscriptions, etc) on the following > children of John Snyder, eldest son of Gov Simon Snyder: all probably died > after 1900 > > Mrs. Daniel Musselman (Utica Voltaire Snyder) > Mrs. G.W. List: I have an ancestor whose 1880 last will and testament requested that she be buried in the cemetery of White Deer Church. I have assumed that this refers to St. Peters United Church of Christ and St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kelly township. Does anyone know if this cemetery is indexed and if it is available on film? Or, can anyone do a lookup for me? In addition is the Farley cemetery in Gregg township indexed, or on film, or can anyone do a lookup? Thanks very much. Robert Woodley in Bloomington, Indiana

Seeking information about Andrew MILLER and Mary HUNTER and their ancestors. My gggg-grandmother was Mary MILLER (1792-1855) who married George BOWER (1787-1851). Mary MILLER was the daughter of Andrew MILLER and Mary HUNTER, married 1784. We know nothing more about Andrew and Mary. Mary MILLER had at least the following siblings: Elizabeth MILLER (1786-1857) m. John ACKLEY (1782-1811) Samuel MILLER (1791-1865) m. Catherine AUTEN (1795-1850) William MILLER (1795-?) m. Catherine GREY George BOWER, husband of Mary MILLER, was the son of Moses BOWER Jr (1755-1801) and Barbara FRIEDERICH (1761-1797) of Amity Twp, Berks Co, PA. Moses and his second wife, Barbara KLOSS (1763-1844), moved to White Deer Twp abt 1800 along with Moses' brother, Johannes BOWER (1757-1804) and his wife, Elizabeth LEHR (1765-1827). Moses apparently came to White Deer Twp after his daughter, Elizabeth BOWER FOLLMER (1784-1853), removed to Northumberland Co with her husband, John FOLLMER, Jr. (1775-1845). I have extensive information about Mary MILLER's descendents, and some information about her siblings' lines, that I would like to exchange with anyone willing to share information about her ancestors. Andy: I am most interested in viewing your site, but can't get into it on AOL. What is the problem? Rita Rjob1502@AOL.com
Hi all! I have been constantly updating the web site for the Snyder, Union, and Northumberland County information. Over the last few days the site has grown to include the following features : 1. A SURNAME PAGE for Union and Northumberland County names. 2. A NAMES LIST for specific ancestors you are looking for. 3. A PLACE NAMES LIST where you can post your requests for information about a specific place within the three counties. For example, "What ever happened to the so-and-so mill, and who owned it?" or "Does anyone know where I can find this such and such, which used to be in the Chapman area?" 4. The Snyder County Tribune lookups are now online! I regret not having more information than I had a few weeks ago. I am hoping to get more mircofilm rolls soon, maybe after the holidays. Take a look and see what you can find. And.. 5. I've added a few more miscellaneous links to good genealogical sites on the web. I also fleshed in some description of the links I already had there! If you know of any other areas you wish to see on the page, feel free to send me ideas! As always, I'm still on the lookout for more good sites to post. If you know of any good sites that you have found helpful and you think they might help another person, please pass them on and I'll post them if possible. Keep the names coming! So far I have 38 surnames from Northumberland County, 47 surnames from Union County, and 280 surnames for the Snyder County Tribune listings pages! Check out the different pages to see how to submit to each. Ifs fairly simple. The main link to the Genealogy portion of the site is : http://yourpage.blazenet.net/areich/Genealogy.html Any questions, please do not hesitate to email me! Happy Holidays to all! Andy Reichenbach
Hi all I recently joined a few PA lists so if you receive duplicates of this message, I apoligize. I'm searching for information on a John BOWEN, b. 1786, d 1845 married Rachel FEURT in 1815 and had at least the following four sons: Gabriel, Daniel, Thomas & James. I have been told that John was born PA but I have not been able to confirm that. Confirming his place of birth is my primary goal right now. Finding his parents would be a wonderful bonus! I've been searching for old John for a few years now and he appears to be my brick wall. He and Rachel were married in Scioto County, OH. John is burried in the Bowen cemetery at Vales Mill (Vinton County, OH) as are many descendents. If anyone has any information on this lost family of Bowen's, it would be greatly appreciated. We have a ton of information on John and Rachel's descendents, but nothing prior to them. Thanks for your help. Carolyn Bowen McGuire
I am trying to locate an Abraham KAUFMAN (KAUFFMAN) listed on an 1860 Census Record for Union County, not sure of the township but around the Lewisburg area. Abraham was born ~1852 so he would be about 8 years old on an 1860 Census. I am seeking the names of Abraham's parents and siblings. If anyone has access to Union County records, I would be most appreciative of a lookup. Thanks, Judy Kaufman Chester County, PA.
