Hello List, I've just received a marriage certificate for a Peter PATERSON, son of Robert PATERSON and Elizabeth PATERSON, formerly GLEN. Peter married Maggie ROBB, daughter of Andrew ROBB and Margaret ROBB, formerly HEAY, at Longridge, Whitburn, West Lothian, Scotland in 1877. The 1881 and 1891 censuses show that Peter and Maggie PATERSON had at least five children; Robert (about 1877), Margaret (about 1879), Elizabeth (about 1881), Frances (about 1884), and another Robert (about 1888). Maggie ROBB had a sister Fanny, who was married to a man named WADDELL. The marriage was also witnessed by an Isabella ROBB. Is anyone else interested in any of these families ? The certificate confirms that Peter PATERSON was the brother of my husband's g-grandfather James PATERSON (b 1858, Torphichen, West Lothian), so if anyone else is researching these lines, I'd be delighted to hear from you. Cheers, Rosalind Paterson.
