Hello: I am looking for Pattersons who were of Scotch/Irish descent coming to NJ in 1700s then on the Pa. From there they moved on to Ky, In. and Il. Joseph Patterson b. 1779 in Pa.(?) died in Montgomery Co. In. in 1863. He was married to Sarah Stephens b. ca. 1793 also in Pa(?) (I put a ? as one source has them both born in Ky). She died in 1877 and is buried with her husband and son, Robert b. 1812, in Bunker Hill Cemetery(Stonebraker) near Alamo, In. Joseph and Sarah had children: Elizabeth b. 1817 Robert 1812, Andrew Jackson b. 1830, Mary A. b 1835, Thomas 1824 and William b. 1826. My ggrandfather, Andrew Jackson Patterson b.1830, married Matilda Newkirk and they had: Albert, William, John Femister, Samuel, George, Mary Ann, Abiga, Sarah Eliz(Lizzie), Andrew J., Olive and Amos.
