Pat, My line starts with Robert Patterson who was born in Monmouth Co., NJ. in 1749. He eventually settled in Washington Co., PA around 1790. He had a son William who married a Hannah Tilton. Unfortunately, that is all I know about him. I know that his name was William Patterson. James was born in 1824 somewhere in Pennsylvania. In 1845 he married Sarah Jane McHenry in West Virginia. He had six children by her. She died in 1856 in Pleasants County, West Virginia. In that same year he married Sarah Ann DeLong in Pleasants County. When they got married it said that he was the son of William and H. Patterson. He and Sarah Ann had 10 children. Nine of the chilren were born in Missouri. I would like to find information on William, what H. stood for, and if there were siblings. There is a story that James was orphaned and raised by his grandmother Miller. Could H. be a Miller?
