    1. [PATTERSON] Jefferson/Cross Creek Township Pattersons and McCreadys (Washington County, PA)
    2. John Patterson
    3. Susi, Thanks for the uniform lead. Have you found anything since we exchanged to sort out the Wash. Co Pattersons? I found out mine back to landfall, North America. If you remember, I was searching out Robert and Eliz Patterson buried in Brooke County (St. John's) but I couldn't find out the parents of my g-g-g-grandfather William Patterson (m. Nancy McCready). Turns out he is the son the John Patterson (m. Jane/Jean Scott) of Bethel Ridge (near Eldersville). John is the brother of James Patterson (m. Sarah Given). Found out by a photograph of a log cabin. On the back my grandmother had written "where William was born" and a lady from Eldersville (96 years old) remembered the house (which was near her girlhood home) was the home of James and John Patterson. Amazing. So now I'm trying to learn how to do Ulster research. Since these Pattersons emigrated about 1795 the records are bleak. I've been searching Donegal County #1 because it's interesting and #2 because there is a lot of info and #3 because James and Robert Patterson/Paterson from Ayrshire settled there on the James Cunningham estates about 1614 and #4 because the Scotts are believed to be from Donegal....but I have no firm reason to believe these Pattersons are from Donegal (as most Pattersons are from Antrim and Down and many also from Derry). But these Bethel Ridge Pattersons built a Methodist Episcopal and a Methodist Protestant Church on Bethel Ridge and I have found no other Methodist Pattersons. So much for rambling. Let me know where your search has led and I'll see if I have collected any new info. The ladies who tracked down the Patterson Farm in Eldersville, PA also so the Robert McCready uniform.... so now I'm intrigued with finding it. And finally, Rev. Joseph Patterson is pretty well documented in Washington County isn't he?
