    1. [PATTERSON] found as missing child- lost as an adult?
    2. Hello Patterson mailing list, Please, take a minute and read this query. thanks. Last Year on this mailing list, so very many of the PATTERSON people joined together and helped our DODD family locate a little 8 year old boy who was living with his grandparents Patterson in St. Landry's Parish in 1870. The child's father died the same year ,the little son was born, in Camp Rondo, Arkansas of Measles and Flux and never got to war. The Mother of the child known as: "Lucy" Marilla( DODD) PATTERSON widow of James N. Patterson hired a lawyer to go to the CSA and pick up her dead husbands wages from the war department. She evidently survived widowhood, the trials and illnesses of the war, because she left a story in our family-a legend of not knowing where her little boy was raised.? WE have lost her in time, thinking she may have married a man by the name of JOHN DUNLAP-by 1870 there were MANY men of that name in Texas. The little boy grew up and is found in Louisiana but we loose him between 1880 and later. We have thought that he may have married and moved to New Orleans? unknown. His grandparents were in their 60's in the 1870's so most probably soon he was on his own. WE have checked most data bases and on line sirname places and directories, and military files, census reading and all the usual places and have not found this james M. Patterson born 1862 TX. Would you on the Patterson list again check your documents and see if you have this young man in your data in Louisiana? Our combined families are searching for his descendants to tell them of all the wonderful things we have found out about his family and their related lines. We are looking for some living cousins of this family of James M. Patterson, born in texas, raised in Louisiana after the civil war. thanks again for any help and I am wishing us good luck..judy hugg grimes: Yorba linda, CA.
