    1. Re: [PATTERSON] Jane Patterson Hawkins County Tennessee
    2. Dear Nancy, and Patterson Group: Thanks so much for the information. I hope that this is my Jane. Let me give you all I have so that you can make any connections you can see. My Jane McGehee was born Jane Patterson in 1782 in Tennessee. I dont know where she was born precicely. I do know that she was married in Hawkins County to James McGehee October 1803 by her own admission. There is no evidence at this time as to who her parents might have been. She had the following children. Pleasant McGehee 1805 Nancy McGehee Pennington 1808 John McGehee 1810 Elizabeth McGehee 1812 Jane McGehee Hilton 1814 Robert Carroll McGehee February 27, 1815 Lucy McGehee Campbell Anderson 1818 Sarah McGehee Stahl November 12, 1821 James McGehee October 10, 1822 Jacob McGehee 1827. All of these children were born in Tennessee, and most were probably born in Lincoln County Tennessee. I do not have precice indications as to when they moved from Hawkins County to Lincoln County Tenn. When Jane applied for a pension for James' military service, the paperwork stated that although the clerk searched he could find no record in Hawkins County Tennessee of a marriage between the two. I have wondered if possibly I was didnt need to check other areas. I have also considered the possibility that Jane Patterson might have been Sarah Jane Patterson. That name Sarah Jane has come up and is fairly prominant name in that time period. Also Nancy Jane was the name of one of her grandaughters. Since she had daughters named both Sarah, Jane and Nancy, I considered that as well. The info you passed on to me could account for both a Sarah (nickname Sallie) and Jane (nickname Jennie).
