    1. Re: [PATTERSON-L] Arthur (Arter) B. PATTERSON
    2. Gerald Patterson
    3. A family story has haunted MY Patterson line for years. This legend indicates that an Arthur Patterson,b. 1724 Antrim, N. Irland, Bro Charles & others came to the area of Chambersburg, PA in 1750. This Arthur was said to have been the father of a Thomas Patterson b. 1752, A John Patterson b. 1760 and possibly a James. John Patterson is my gr gr gr grandfather and he first shows up in Nottingham Twp., Washington Co., PA with his brother Thomas in 1785. There they started farming. John Married a Mary Caldwell in abt 1790. I have good data on most of their 13 kids. The problem has always been-- who were the parents of John & Thomas and where were they born. I have come to disbelieve our family story of an Arthur Patterson as parent. The source of the family story turned out to be flawed and no Arthur I;ve bee able to search could possibly fit my guys. Arthur is not a common name among Pattersons and I can't relate to your search. Wish I could---Pat in Land O'Lakes, Fl. Arleta Galloway wrote: > Sorry if this is a repeat.
