I am looking for parents, grandparents, etc. of Asa Patterson, b. abt. 1812-1815, possibly in SC, lived in the Cane Break area of Jackson County, NC, lived with 3rd wife in Pickens County, SC where daughter Jestina Galloway lived, d. July, 1882, buried at Old Toxaway Cemetery, Transylvania County, NC. He had 3 wives: my great grandmother Jestina (b. 1854 in Texas?, m. Edward Hope Galloway in Transylvania County, NC on 9/26/1873, d. 11/9/1909 in Liberty, SC (also spelled on various documents as Chastina, Chistina) was the daughter of his 2nd wife Elinor (also sp. Ellender, Elinder). The only thing I know about Elinor is that she had received property from a John Patterson. Elinor and Asa's heirs were Ellen Patterson Elighah Patterson Asa Patterson Letha T. Patterson Lizena Powell Manda Chapel (Amanda) Evaline Chapel Elender Powell Chistina Galloway Asa's first wife Neely Nix had only one child, daughter Selina who married Edward Hope Galloway's brother Lyman Thayer. E.H.and Lyman Thayer's sister N. Charlotte married a John Bird Patterson who does not seem to be a child of Asa. Some from the Galloway Mail List seem to think that Asa is related to West Patterson b 1784-1790 and d. bef 1850, m. Frances.
