I am looking for any info on Walter, and his son, Zera Patterson. Walter was born in Cortland Cty, NY, in 1810. He stated he was the son of James B. Patterson, who fought in the War of 1812, and the grandson of John Patterson, both of Ireland, who fought in the Revolutionary War. I know Walter and Zera's history after they moved to Iowa from Ashtabula Cty, Ohio in 1853, but am not sure of them before that. Walter was b. 1810; m. Sophia Flanders of Cattaraugus Cty, NY, daughter of Ezekiel Flanders of New Hampshire. Children inclcude: Alzina, Zera S. (b. at Eagleville, NY, Feb 7, 1838), Amanda, Ellen, Lydia and Walter Jr., Alice, Amelia and Alveretta. I am trying to connect Walter to my gr, gr grandfather, Charles Hamilton Patterson, who was born in Cortland Cty, NY 22 June 1825. I have not been able to locate Charles in Cortland as of yet.
