The 1860 Federal Census covering Florence, Carver Co., MN (Enumerated 11 July, 1860) lists: Robert Patterson age 34, a farmer, born in Ireland Ellen, his wife, age 28, also born in Ireland William, a son, age 7, also born in Ireland Maria, a daughter, age 4, born "Canada West" and Catherine, a daughter, age 2 born in Minnesota This family appears to be buried in St. Bernard's Catholic Church Cemetery, Carver County, Minnesota: Ellea, wife of R. Patterson 1823 - 5 September 1901 Robert Patterson, born in Drumkiern C. Lietrum, Ireland 18 February 1818 - 12 September 1901 Thomas J. Patterson 8 March 1870 - 17 May 1899 (born after the 1860 census) Walter E. There is also a Thomas PATTERSON, age 22, living with this family in 1860. I presume Thomas is a brother of William's. I have these 3 seperate famalies, all with male PATTERSON's born between 1825 and 1838, in Ireland, who moved their families to Canada between 1848 and 1854 and then again moved to Carver Co., MN between 1856 and 1860.
