Alvin Lafayette Patterson, born in SC in 1829, son of William and Mary Patterson , died March 1, 1907,and is buried in Cottage Hill Cemetery. In 1854 he married Almyra P. Stinnett born 1836 in MO. died July 21 1911 and buried Cottage Hill Cemetery near Weston, Texas She was the daughter of Joel M. Stinnett of Fannin County . Alvin and Almyra had thirteen children. In the 1860 Texas Census, Alvin and Almyra Patterson were listed as living in Plano, Texas. His Mother and a brother, William and a sister Mary (Mrs James M. Brown) were there too. Later they moved to Weston, Texas. One of Alvin and Almyra Patterson's daughters was named Nancy (Nannie). In 1887 she married John B Watson. They had a daughter named Selma. Another daughter of Alvin and Almyra, Molly ( Douglas) lived in Van Alstyne, TX. In 1906 Nancy ( Nannie) Watson was married W., G. O'Brien of Stratford, TX. Selma went with Nannie and in 1910 married Jake J. Fryar. Selma and Jake lived in Dallas, Tx. In 1946 Selma Watson Fryar married J.W.X. Browne. Nannie lived in Stratford until her death in 1956. Alvin and Almyra's second oldest daughter was Georgia, born in Collin County in 1859. In 1877 Georgia married George Leach. Their only child was Floy Adella, born February 18, 1879 in Weston, Texas, and died February 26, 1960 in Fort Worth, TX. In later years George Leach went to Canada and was never heard from again. Floy Adella married Dr J. A. Avant. They had three children. Dr Avant died in Weatherford Texas in 1918.
