My Greatgrandfather, James William Patterson, was born in either W. Virginia or Pennsylvania June 24, 1824. He married, had a family of five children, his wife died in childbirth with their 6th child. He later married my great- grandmother in Nov. 1856. They moved to Missouri. Their first child was born in 1857. He was Samual. Then came Adaline, Josephine, Josiah (My grandfather), Louisa, Leander, Laura, Ida Belle, Lova May, and Minnie. They were all born in the counties of Wayne, Miller, Callaway and Butler. A lot of them lived and died in Butler Co., Mo. Leander & Laura went to California and the last three girls lived in Oklahoma. His children from his first wife were Jane, Granville, Hester, Okey Ray, Clara and Marcella, who died at birth. I don't have much information on James William Patterson, but I have quite a lot on some of his children. If anyone has any of these names in their tree, please contact me.
