Historical Society, Lancaster, PA by Jo Ann Patterson Baxley ([email protected]) Abstract of Robert Patterson Will Book T Vol 1 p. 195 Be it known to all whom it may concern that I Robert Patterson of the Borough of Columbia in the County of Lancaster and State of Pennsylvania, being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and constitute this my last will and testament, revoking all former wills and testaments. I will and bequeath to my dear wife Sophia Patterson all that Dwelling House and Lot of Ground whereon we now live with the appurtenences thereto belonging situate on the south side of Elneon street between second and third streets in the Borough aforesaid, to have and to hold the said House and Lot of ground with the appurtenances to her and to her Heirs and assigns forever: Item, I will and bequeath my said wife all my personal Estate, the first paying all my just debts and funeral expenses. And lastly I do hereby appoint my said wife Sophia Patterson my sole executorix to this my last will and testament. As witness my last my hand and seal this thirty first day of December 1842. Robert Patterson Signed and sealed in presence of us, the words my last in the last line but (Signed in his hand) erased before signing. S. W. Mifflin Wm. Wright Lancaster County (initials) On the 26th day of January A.D. 1843, before me the Subscriber personally appeared William Wright, one of the subscribing witnesses to the preceding will and on his solemn affirmation says that he was present and saw and hard Robert Patterson, the Testator herein named, sig, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the same to the his last will and testament and at the doing thereof he was of sound and well disposing mind, memory and understanding, to the best of his knowledge, observation and belief. (Signed) Jos. Ebrenfried, Deputy Reg. Lancaster County (initials) On the 21st day of February, A.D. 1843, before me the subscriber personally appeared S. W. Mifflin, the other subscribing witness to the preceding will, and on his solemn affirmation says that he was present and saw and heard Robert Patterson, the Testator herein named, sign seal, publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament, and at the doing thereof he was of sound and well disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best ofhis knowledge, observation and belief. (Signed) Jos. Ebrenfried, Deputy Reg. February 21st 1843 Letters Testamentary granted to Sophia Patterson , the Executrix she being duly affirmed to administer the goods and chattels, rights and credits of the said Testator according to law and also that she will diligently and faithfully regard and well and truly comply with the provisions of the Law relating to Collateral Inheretances.
