Cheers! I've got a strange Patterson bird for you all! This has been haunting be for about a year. I have a John (or sometimes Jonathan, Jas or Jo) Patterson that appear in the early 1800's near what is now Spencer Co, KY. Later census record has him from SC. Perrin's History of Kentucky 1885 has him from PA, son of William and married to Rebecca LaPhawn near this area (which I haven't been able to confirm). Their children were Archibald, Christopher, James A., Jonathan H., Griffin, Alfred, Resin, and possibly Robert C., Catherine and Hardin. Rebecca Patterson Gray's posting mentioned a Langston family that intermarried with the Patterson family in SC. John's son Archibald named his first son Langston. Coincidence? I've not found any infomation linking this Patterson family to PA or SC. Most of this family including John moved on to Muhlenberg Co, KY in 1854. Any thing sound familiar to anyone? Laura Lamb
