He was born about 1844-45 in Arkansas. Moved with his father, James H. Patterson, to Waco, McLennan County, Texas in the 1860's. John Henry married Rebecca Temple Crudup, daughter of Robert Crudup and Almeda O. Barron, in Waco on December 25, 1871. Their third son was George Oaks Patterson, bn. February 09, 1887(my grandfather). Another son was Hilliard Alexander Patterson, bn. on October 12, 1889. Both of these children were born in McLennan County, Texas.
