    3. << You wrote Can anyone provide information about a Patterson marrying a Eva Quck in NC? My husband has been told that his line is Robert Patterson of Kentucky. Robert Patterson was a surveyer in Lexington, Ky and Dayton,Oh and established both townsites. Sorry for not knowing dates. Thanks so much, J & D J & D, The only information that I have on this Robert Patterson came from "Fincastle County Kentucky Records" Vol. 1, by Michael L. Cook C.G. & Bettie Cummings Cook, C.G., Kentucky Records Series 1985 Cook Publication, Evansville, IN. In the Fayette Co, KY Records of the Circuit Court there is a long document. Starting date in March 31, 1804 (p.289). Francis Patterson and Arthur Patterson v. John Bradford. It it "Francis Patterson on January 17, 1780, in consequence of an improvement made for him by a certain Robert Patterson in 1776 obtained from the Court of Commissioners a certificate for a right of preemption to 1,000 acres of land in Fayette County, on the North fork of Cane run, to include his improvement." Francis enters 1,000 acres land on preemption warrant No. 852 on Cane Run.... Later the document, which mentions Robert Patterson several times, states that Robert set out for Kentucky in 1775 from his father's (Francis) home in the back parts of Pennsylvania. It also mentions a brother William, a brother Francis, sisters Martha and Mary, and I believe another brother Arthur. Francis Sr. died in 1802. Was your Robert a Colonel in a war?
