Hi, I'm new to the list. Trying to identify my Patterosns who lived in E Baton Rouge Louisiana in the 1840's. I think the father's name was John L Patterson, the mother's name was Mary. The father died by the 1850 census. There were possibly 5 children, perhaps more: Marie Catherine, Martin, Andrew Jackson, William Henry and John Thomas (my gggrandfather). They moved to Texas by the 1860 census. I'm hoping to find that the mother's name was Dent.
