William Patterson, age 24, occupation "seaman", from "London", ship "Jane", to "Maryland, as a " N.B. William is going to settle abroad & by an agreement with the Captn are to pay him so much for their passage to Maryland, on their arrival, but if they cannot then the Captn is to dispose of them for a number of years to defray the expence of their passage".
