I previously posted a message about a naturalization document I have re: John Patterson b. 11/30/1779 Belfast d.4/2/1861 Leitchfield, KY m. Rebecca Troutman 3/30/1809. The original document is about 12" wide and 35" long (one continous piece of paper). I have tried, with no success, to post two files to this List that show this document in different sizes. The files are jpeg files. If you want them, pls email me direct and I will send them to you. They are rather large, about 1090kb. If any of you are ever in Nashville, call me and you can see the original. The document reads as follows: Virginia Norfolk Borough At a quarterly session Court continued and held the 28th day of March 1805. It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that John Patterson late of Ireland in the Kingdom of Great Britain has resided within the Jurisdiction of the United States for five years and for one year within this State, and he making oath that he will support the Constitution of the United States, and absolutely and entirely renounce all allegiance and fidelity to any Foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, particularly the King of Great Britain; and moreover appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that he has behaved himself as a man of good moral character, attached to the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same, the said John Patterson is thereupon admitted to become a citizen.
