Hi Listers, I have just received yet another certificate that turns out not to be the one I was hoping for. This one is a death cert for a James PATERSON, husband of Janet NIMMO, and son of William PATERSON and his wife Janet, maiden surname CULVERT. James died in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, in 1885, aged 56. If this is of interest to anyone, please contact me for the remaining details. The James PATERSON I was actually looking for was the husband of Mary McNEILL, and I think he was the son of William PATERSON and Margaret BROWNLEE. He was aged 53 and living in Dalserf, Lanarkshire, in 1881, but had died by 1891, by which time his widow was living in Wishaw, Lanarkshire. His death doesn't appear to have been registered in Dalserf or Wishaw, so I don't know where he died. If anyone knows anything about this James PATERSON, I would very much like to hear from them. Cheers, Rosalind Paterson.
