    1. [PATTERSON] pattersons
    2. hello, i have a brother and a sister patterson: james n. and marcella, they both married dodd kids, in san augustine co. tx. in 1860. have lost them after that... james n. patterson married marilla dodd. james M. dodd married marcella patterson...and yes, it can get confusing. this patterson family was probably in san augustine co. about 1850 or close by? just a guess, however, the dodd family was from alabama to san aug by 1860 and they had family and settled in MILAM...williamson!!! falls, bell co. texas...and all in that area.. .I noticed you have a henry patterson in that williamson area...? henry was a common name in the dodd family that married into the pattersons. ------below posting on the patterson.org list:----------- I am hoping someone will have Susan in their Patterson family trees somewhere. I am trying to find her parents/siblings. She is my Great Grandmother. She married Thomas Jackson Cothern on 12 Feb 1871. They had the following 9 children: William Thomas Cothern m. Laura Josephine Rhea b. 16 Aug 1872 Fannin Co. TX Rufus Burl Cothern m. Aphalonia Martin b. 20 Jan 1875 Fannin Co. TX Joseph Edward Cothern m. 1) Elmina Harris Rhea 2) Sarah Jane Rhea b. 3 Nov 1877 Fannin Co. TX Lula Victoria Cothern m. 1) Simington G. Paxton 2) Robert Owen b. 27 Feb 1880 Fannin Co. TX Mattie Cothern m. Walter A. Talley b. 8 Mar 1883 Alabama Cora Cothern m. Nathaniel Van Wright b. 3 Sep 1887 Baylor Co. TX Roy Willard Cothern m. Lillian Bell Norman b. 14 Nov 1889 Slate Springs, MS Minnie Cothern m. Gabriel Mills Williamson b. Aug 1893 Birthplace Unkn Katie Elizabeth Cothern m. Henry Patterson b. 15 Sep 1895 Williamson Co. TX -------this could be interesting? thanks for your posting. judygrimes, yorba linda ca.

    3. Would like to hear from any-one with ifo. on the above. In particular I would liek to know what happened to his son John, mentioned in connection with Damarara (Demerara). A grand-daughter Elizabeth is mentioned as John's daughter in William's Will. Who was Elizabeth's mother and what happened to her? Did John start another family in Demerara? What were their names? What became of them?

    1. [PATTERSON] Stephen Patterson marriage to an Eleanor (Ellen) abt 1816 Freehold NJ
    2. Anita G. Clayton
    3. Any one have a marriage for Stephen Patterson to a Eleanor or Ellen guessing about 1816, but don't know all of the children or their ages, so that may be off a bit. This probably in Freehold, Monmouth, NJ. I have not checked county marriages, does anyone have access to them? Also need deaths for Eleanor and Stephen. I found a marriage listed in the IGI for a Stephen Paterson to Elenor Clark, 18 Apr 1816, Westfield, Essex, NJ (or another listing just the same except Union not Essex county) to Elenor Clark. Is this a different Stephen and Eleanor? area isn't too far off. Names and date good. Eleanor Patterson and her son Albert Patterson are buried in Adelphia cemetery I am told, along with John L. Patterson and ??illy Paterson, and Amos Paterson, all old weathered stones. Stephen's stone evidently isn't there. Eleanor's stone just has "wife of Stephen Patterson", no dates. Albert's says 16 xxx 1861, 44y,4m,11d, (figures to b. 8 Jun 1817) but I have his obit for him dying 16 Oct 1863, may just be because the stone is so deteriorated.) John's says John L.Patterson, d. 11 Mar 1822 77y, 9m, 7d, (figures to b. Jun 4, 1744). ??illy Paterson 1846 59 yrs. and Albert's son Amos d. 1898 44 yrs John L. may have been Stephen's father, as he is buried with the rest, does anyone know? There was also a Jane Patterson of NYC, probably also daughter of Stephen as she gave a quit claim to Albert for $25.00 on property in Freehold that she inherited from Stephen. Quit claim dated 1846. I have more on this family, would like to find any info on them. Is there any connection to the Clayton family? Was Eleanor a Clayton or did she have a sister who married a Clayton? I have a grandfather William Cramer Patterson who was born in Pennsylvania in 1852, moved to Lawrence, KS and married Sarah Teresa Flinn Patterson who was born the same year in Niagara on the Lake, Canada. They had 3 children, Ruth, Ross and Doris (my Mother). Of course my Mother is deceased and forgot to tell me where in PA my grandfather was born. She did say that she was eligible for the DAR and had sent her papers in. I believe she said that grandfather had brothers that fought in the war. Sarah U.
