The wife of John Patterson b. 30 Nov 1779 d. 2 Apr 1861 was Rebecca Troutman b. 30 Dec 1791 d. 17 Jun 1874. Rebecca's father was Michael (John)Troutman, from Bullitt County, KY. I have that he died 10 Apr 1814 and that his second wife was Elizabeth Schroeder, and that they had four children, John, Peter, Leonard, and Elizabeth. I don't know the name of his first wife, the mother of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Rebecca, Mary, Margaret, Peggy, and Philip. Does anyone have the name of Rebecca's mother and her vital statistics? Also could use the date of birth of Michael (John) Troutman. Thanks.
Hello Patterson researchers. I want to invite you all to (re)visit http://thepattersons.org to look for and post Patterson family information. I've seen many new names looking for Patterson ancestors and relations--people who may not know about the site. If you have not been to thePattersons.org before (or in a while), please visit--there are nearly 250 family postings. Let's make some family connections. If it is slow pulling up, try again later. Microsoft Frontpage can only handle so many browsers at a time. Thanks. Coleman Patterson
Hi All, Thought it might be time to repost the family we are researching; Martin Derious Patterson (grtgrdfather and brick wall) was orphaned at a very young age and raised by his older sister-Ansy Patterson. "Ansy" may be a nickname but for what we don't know. Martin was never completely sure of how old he was so the dob we have of 1845 may not be correct. We have no dates for Ansy but we do know she married a Dunn in FL. This Patterson line may have originated in GA-then went to TX ,met up with the Perkins family (Martin later married Catherine (Carrie) Perkins Stone- a widow from TX with one daughter named Laura ) and then on to FL (Alachua and then Pinellas/Hillsborgh)around 1866 or earlier. Does anyone have a Patterson couple that died young and left children behind? there may have been other siblings too. Or a Patterson family that was raising a Martin (around 5 yrs old in 1850's) and older sister? Thanks for anything you can come up with or anyone who might be connected to this family please contact us at either johnpatterson@hotmail.com or jpatters@bellsouth.net other info; FAMILY OF MARTIN DERIOUS PATTERSON MARTIN DERIOUS PATTERSON BIRTH:AUG 5, 1845 DEATH:JAN 9,1916 BURIAL:KEYSTONE UNITED METHODIST CEMETERY,KEYSTONE HILLSBOROUGH CO.,FLORIDA PARENTS:UNKn SPOUSE;CATHERINE E.PERKINS BIRTH:JAN 2, 1838 DEATH:AUG 7,1917 BURIAL:KEYSTONE UNITED METHODIST CEMETERY,KEYSTONE HILLSBOROUGH CO.,FLORIDA PARENTS:UNKN CHILDREN; 1.JOHN DERIOUS PATTERSON (grdfather) 2.WILLIAM HENRY PATTERSON 3.GREEN WESLEY PATTERSON 4.MARY JANE PATTERSON 5.JOSEPH ALEXANDER PATTERSON 6.MARTIN THEODORE PATTERSON Martin D Patterson (CW) Enlist Date Enlist Place Enlist Rank Enlist Age 11 April 1862 Priv Served Florida Enlisted G Co. 7th Inf Reg. Hello Listers, Here are some Peebleshire PATERSONs in the 1851 census in Dalziel, Lanarkshire (district 639); - Enumerator's book 4. Meadowhead Archibald PATERSON, head, 75, Ag Lab., born Stobbo Peebleshire Agnes PATERSON, 64, wife, born Stobbo, Peebleshire Marion ALEXANDER, sister-in-law, unmarried, 68, born Coulter, Lanarkshire, blind. Over Johnstone James PATERSON, head, 25, Carpenter, b Eddlestone, Peebleshire Isabella PATERSON, wife, 25, b Dalziel Archibald PATERSON, son, 4, born Camnethan James PATERSON, son 1, born Dalziel I think that James, the carpenter, is the son of Archibald, the head of the first household. I found this family on the 1841 census, which I think may be the same family ten years earlier. Enumerator's book 1. Meadowhead Archibald PATERSON, 55, Ag Lab., not born in Lanarkshire Agnes PATERSON, 50, born in Lanarkshire Archibald PATERSON, 25, Ag Lab, not born in Lanarkshire Alexander PATERSON, 20, Schoolmaster, not born in Lanarkshire Marion PATERSON, 15, not born in Lanarkshire James PATERSON, 15, not born in Lanarkshire. Hello Listers, Here are some PATERSONs from the 1841 and 1851 censuses in Dalziel. First, the family I'm interested in; - 1851 census, Dalziel, district 639, enumerator's book 3. Windmillhill. William PATERSON, head, widower, 45, Carter, born New Monkland Margaret PATERSON, daughter, unmarried, 22, Tambourer, born Dalziel Mary PATERSON, daughter, unmarried, 17, Tambourer, born Dalziel Ann PATERSON, daughter, 9, Tambourer, born Dalziel John CAMERON, grandson, 4, born Dalziel John SCOTT, grandson, 1 month, born Dalziel This family is also on the 1841 census in Dalziel, without John Cameron and John Scott of course, but with the mother of the family, Margaret (formerly BROWNLEE). There were also four sons and another daughter on the 1841 census. The sons were Robert aged 15, Ag. Lab; James aged 13, Coal Miner; David aged 10, Cotton hand-loom Weaver Apprentice, and William aged 4. The other daughter was Marion, aged 6. I have Robert on every census from 1841-1891, and I have (I think) found James on the 1851 and 1881 censuses in Cambusnethan. I also think I found William junior on the 1851 census in Dalziel; in the household of a Mary GOURLAY, a widow of 61. Mary Gourlay had three sons, one of whom was a baker, and the household also included a William PATERSON, 13, Apprentice Baker, born Dalziel. Does anyone else out there have a connection with these Patersons ? The following families may or may not have a connection to William Paterson's family, they just happen to be in Dalziel at the same time; - 1851 census; District 639, Dalziel; Enumerator's book 4, Meadowhead Household of Walter REID, Coal engine Keeper, contained, among others; - Thomas PATERSON, nephew, unmarried, 14, Coal pit labourer, born Dalziel I think this Thomas may also be on the 1841 census (same district, enumerator's book 1), address Bankhead, where the household of Alexander REID, Ag Lab, aged 60, included among others, Thomas PATERSON, aged 4, born in the county. 1841 census, Dalziel, enumerator's book 1. Dalziel Cottage. Isobel LINDSAY, 65, born in Lanarkshire Isabella LINDSAY, 35, born in Lanarkshire John PATERSON, 15, born in Lanarkshire William BROWN, 10, born in Lanarkshire There are two John Patersons of about the right age in Dalziel in 1851, so I can't tell which if either is this John. It's odd that there were no occupations at all in this houshold. 1841 census, Dalziel, enumerator's book 1. Shields John PATERSON, 70, Labourer, born in Lanarkshire Margaret PATERSON, 71, born in Lanarkshire Isobel WILSON, 39, born in Lanarkshire John ?BURNS, 20, Coal Waggoner, born in Lanarkshire There's no sign of John & Margaret on the 1851 census. 1851 census, Dalziel, enumerator's book 1. Motherwell Robert PATERSON, head, 32, Coal Miner, b Barony Janet PATERSON, wife, 30, b Barony John PATERSON, son, 3, b Bothwell Matthew PATERSON, head, 21, Coal Miner, b Barony Annie PATERSON, wife, 23, b Cambusnethan 1851 census, Dalziel, enumerator's book 2. Hi Ed, I am seeking the parents of John H. Patterson (1816 in D.C-1904 M.D.) married Susanah Garey (1829-1904 M.D) 2-2-1848 in M.D. The 1880 Census lists John's father as born in Scotland and Mother in M.D. I believe his father may have been a sailor. I'm trying to connect the Patterson family members in the Prince Wm. Co. ,Va. area. My ggggrandfather was Jesse Patterson married to Harriett Brammell. They are listed in the 1850 census with their sons John and William. There are other Pattersons living in close vicinity I feel Jesse was related to. I can not connect them however. Any help would be appreciated. Names Gustavious, Arrington, Fanny were heads of households before 1850 Sheila McMichael smcmic9895@aol.com Sheila McMichael

Looking for the family of a Frank Patterson, born in New York State, remarried in Iowa (Delaware Co, Iowa) to a Jane Trask by 1870 Census in Delaware Co. Iowa . Thank you for your time. Rick James
I am researching Adam Patterson, born about 1798 in NY and died in IN. Census indicates all his children born NY. The 1830 census shows about five or six Adam Pattersons. The only one that is close to the age of the one I am researching is the Adam Patterson appearing on the 1830 Otsego County, NY census, town of Middlefield. First born child was a female born prior to 1830. Age of Adam, his wife and the child fit the family I am researching. I am interested in knowing if any of you have determined that this Adam Patterson is a branch of the Pattersons you are researching. Hopefully not and this Adam will turn out to be my husband's ggggrandfather. Thanks for your help.
My ggggrandfather Robert Patterson fought in the Battle of Kings Mountain at the age of 16. He was not afraid to take up arms to fight to save his country. It was a different time and a different war than what we are facing today and I am not afraid to admit that I am a tad bit worried about what might be ahead of us, but then who of us isn't a tad bit worried. Take care Pattersons and let's all keep in contact. Carolyn Condray-Merritt ggggrandaughter of Robert Patterson
Amen to what you said Laura. Carolyn Condray-Merritt ggggrandaughter of Robert Patterson
Hi All, Just wanted to make sure we hadn't been accidently removed from the list as it has been "quiet" for days. I know we are all grieving ,being originally from NYC I have taken this very personally but for our own sakes and to honor our ancestors -we must keep Lists like these going strong. God Bless America and all our ancestors that helped to make it what it is and passed down their pride.
