Daniel PATTERSON was born UNKNOWN died Abt. April 1835. Question, where was he born & where he died? married Hannah Havens (Heavens) who later remarried a Mr. John Luke. Located in the 1800 census living in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. Also, searching for more information on Daniel's Father, Joseph PATTERSON married to Elizabeth BARTON. Would gladley exchange information & data & photos to my line of Patterson's willing to do the same for me. Many thanks in advance! Kathy Patterson Walters
I am stuck at my gr-gr-gr-gr-gr grandfather Robert Patterson. All accounts say that he was born in Monmouth County, NJ in 1749. At some point prior to the Revolution he moved, either by himself or with parents-family?, to either Adams or York Co., PA. Either of these could have been Lancaster Co., at the time. About 1790 he appears in Washington Co., PA and has a wife, Mary Ann Scyoc, and children: Robert, James, Joanna, Timothy, William, John, Mary, Abigail and Peter. I do not know if she was his first wife and I know nothing of his parents or siblings. If anyone has any information about this Patterson line, I would be most appreciative. Thanks, Jack McNatt in Sunny Florida =======================
What a terrific idea! My brick walls are two brothers: Charles Hamilton PATTERSON (my gr gr grandfather) - b. in 1815 in Cortland Co, NY AND his brother, Walter J. PATTERSON b. 1810 in Cortland Co, NY. Charles married Alethsea (Alethia) BARKER in 1847 in NY, probably Cortland or Tompkins CO. They had one daughter, Marietta, b. 14 Jul 1848 in NY. This family is in the 1850 Ithaca, Tompkins Co, NY Fed Census. In 1856 the family moved to Jackson Co, IA, where Alethsea died a year later. Charles married Lorinda PATE, my gr gr grandmother. Walter married Sophia FLANDERS in NY (I believe) She was born in Cattaraugus Co, NY in 1816. Walter and Sophia are found in Perry Twp, Stark Co, OH in the 1840 census. They are back in NY for the 1850 Dryden, Tompkins Co, NY Fed Census along with 4 children: Alzina, Zera, Ellen, Lydia and Walter, Jr. They, too, leave for Jackson Co, IA in 1856. I believe their father to be James PATTERSON, and perhaps the James PATTERSON listed in the 1850 Dryden, Tompkins Co, NY Fed Census. He is living with the Pardon Tabor family and is a currier. A James PATTERSON also received Bounty Land in Homer, NY. Thanks for any replies. Carol

Does anyone have information on John Richmond Patterson? I don't have much to go on, other than he married an Elizabeth Constable. He would have been born Abt. 1855. They had at least one daughter, Florence Patterson, who married Eugene Stratton Taft. I don't know any locations. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
James Isom/Isham PATTERSON was born about 1795, perhaps in Ireland, perhaps in South Carolina. His wife Margaret (Peggy) Brown and the Mary BROWN who married James NEIGHBORS are said to be the daughters of William BROWN. In 1822, in Newberry District, South Carolina, an Isham Patterson bought a calf at an estate sale. In 1834 an "Isaom" Patterson bought chairs at an estate sale in Newberry. A family legend says that Isom Patterson and Peggy Brown met on board a ship from Ireland, had a shipboard romance, and married. Could it have been Isom's or Peggy's parents, and the story is off by a generation? Other stories, current in various branches of the family, are that the family originally settled in the area of Fayetteville, North Carolina, that James/Isom had brothers names George and William and a half brother named David Pinkston, and "legend has it that Isom later moved to the Columbia, South Carolina area and was involved in the Creek Indian battles." An 1829 census of Laurens District, South Carolina, shows an Isom Patterson with 9 persons in the household. Children of this marriage were Andrew Jackson Patterson (born 11 Dec 1816 in Newberry South Carolina, died 7 October 1886 in Alexander CIty, Tallapoosa County, Alabama, married Mary Ann Neighbors, daughter of James and Mary Neighbors), James Patterson, William Patterson, Sarah Patterson (married Henry ROBERTSON), Nancy Adeline Patterson (married Thomas Winfield KIMBROUGH), Rachael Patterson, Margaret Patterson (married Golden TAPLEY), George Washington Patterson (married Mary Jane LEE) and Frances Patterson (married John ABRAMS). Who were Isom's parents? Where was he born? Who were his siblings?

(1858), Eskalana Maria (pronounced Mariah) (1860), John H. (1865) and a baby who probably died at birth. In 1866, this Hampton family and about 50 other families made a wagon train and migrated to Williamson Co., TX. There Esky Hampton married Joseph Benton Bishop. They were my great great grandparents. My grandfather and my mother were born and raised in Williamson Co. just north of Georgetown (which is about 30 miles north of Austin.)

My Patterson brick wall: Sarah Jane Patterson married Solomon Benjamin Holder in Sevier County, Arkansas in 1864. They lived in Logan, Scott and Sebastian Counties in Arkansas. Her children were: Nancy Ada (married WILBOURN then BUCK); Ellen Elisabeth (married WILBOURN); Emma F., (married COCKRALL); Warren, (married HILL); Allison W. (a son, married CLINE then WATSON); Wiley J., (married Mary unknown); Lily Arminta, (married CANTRELL); and Cora, (married MITCHELL). In 1895, Sarah Jane married B.F. BOON in Logan County, Arkansas. I have information on Sarah Jane's children and their marriages, but none on Sarah Jane herself. I have not been able to locate a birth family for her. In census listings, she gives her place of birth as Tennessee, her father's place of birth as North Carolina and her mother's as Alabama. I last find Sarah Jane in 1910, in Yell County, Arkansas, living with her son Allison and his family. I don't find her in 1920, so I am assuming she died between 1910 and 1920, in Yell, Scott, Logan or Sebastian Counties in Arkansas and is buried there. I'd love to find out who her parents were and where and when she died and is buried. Thanks for any help! ABHavens
